How it works
The process is simple:1. Whenever a medication order needs to be reviewed, you fax or scan the order to the Rxe-sourceSM pharmacy service center.
2. Orders are queued so that STAT orders are reviewed first. The Rxe-sourceSM pharmacist logs into your hospital's pharmacy computer system through a secure, encrypted, HIPAA-compliant connection, reviews and enters the order, and documents consultations.
3. If your hospital uses automated dispensing cabinets, such as Pyxis® products, then the medication is automatically approved for the nurse to access. If your hospital does not have automation, the nurse receives a fax approval.
As an additional value, if your physician or nursing staff has a question or needs drug information, he or she can call the Rxe-sourceSM pharmacy service center and speak to a pharmacist. In addition, Rxe-sourceSM service provides a client specific portal by which daily and monthly productivity, quality and clinical consultation reports can be retrieved.
